Madagascar ~ Veneration of Ancestors

The sacrifice of Zebu (a Malagasy cow) is generally used to honor or win permission of the ancestors.  By showing respect through sacrificial ceremony,  the ancestors are thought to intervene on behalf of the living. Mia Collis Photography.
