Ballet and Nairobi are two words that you don’t often hear together. The ballet class that I know well in Nairobi, takes place in the city and is attended by my grandmother. She’s 94 and she has enrolled in a twice-weekly class at the conservatoire for 50 years.

Recently, however, the Nairobi stage has taken on the Royal Moscow Ballet Company ~ Crown Of The Russian Ballet on their East African tours.

In 2010 Nairobi hosted the Stuttgart Ballet and the Vienna Festival Ballet in conjunction with PAMOJA Dance Group from Nairobi.

Pamoja Dance Group – is a mixed and inclusive dance group intended to provide real integration of dancers with and without disability into the arts community and most important into society at large.
