Three of us got together and started a campaign recognizing women shaping Nairobi. Anne Mpinga produced it and was the fashion designer behind the stunning clothes, Cynara Vetch wrote the stories and I photographed and directed the creative side.
Nairobi is a bustling and rapidly changing metropolis. Buried in grit and greenery, nobody can deny that it is an African city set to fast forward. Much of this change taking place is being led by women. #SheIsNairobi presents real Nairobi women; intellectuals, creatives, entrepreneurs, volunteers, wage earners. What they share in common is that each is making a difference to this city.
So this is our celebration of inspiring women making change. It is also the launch of the Kipusa fashion collection of the same name ~ modeled by these role models.
