In October 2016 I worked on an assignment in Kigoma Tanzania for Comic Relief. A large part of the assignment was focused on empowered women’s groups tackling malaria head on. Johari, was wonderful women who became part of the Kanyabeza Women’s group. The women were fed up with their husbands not contributing to the upbringing of their kids and so they formulated their own support group, this alleviated their burdens and financially supports members and their children if they need to go to hospital.
